Check your coverage status

Log in or call FSSA to confirm your Medicaid is still active and that your contact information is current. Do this even if you haven't received a notice — coverage lapses can happen without warning.

Update your address

If FSSA can't reach you by mail, you may lose coverage without warning. Indiana sends eligibility renewal notices, work requirement updates, and deadline reminders by mail. Update your address immediately if it has changed.

Call the Indiana Division of Family Resources at 1-800-403-0864 to report your new address.

Verify if you're exempt

Many people qualify for exemptions to the 80-hour work requirement — parents of children 13 and under, medically frail individuals, pregnant women, and adults 65 and older. Don't assume you must comply before checking your status.

Start documenting your hours now

Indiana law requires a 3-month lookback period. If you plan to apply in January 2027, you must show you met the 80-hour requirement in October, November, and December 2026 — that means you need to start now. Keep records like employer pay stubs, volunteer sign-in sheets, class schedules, or training certificates.

The Indiana FSSA Benefits Portal at fssabenefits.in.gov/bp is your primary dashboard for reporting monthly work hours, uploading documentation, checking your exemption status, and managing your coverage. Create your account now — before January 2027 — so you are ready when requirements begin.
